Our story

From the Emerald Coast of Florida to NYC, Baltimore, Boston and now Cape Cod, home has always been near the ocean. Whether living in the city or a small seaside town, I’ve had a Golden Retriever by my side. After a towel dry from a day at the beach or a dip in the city park’s fountain, finding dog products that repel water and don’t absorb that “wet dog” smell has been a challenge.

That was until I purchased a recycled sail bean bag to compliment the nautical décor in our Cape home. Little did I know our Golden, Winston, would choose it as his favorite spot for naps and lounging by the window. Then came Walter, Golden #2, who as a puppy pushed his older brother aside and claimed it as his own! Seeing how much they both enjoyed the "humans" bean bag, I said to my husband, “why don’t I make them a recycled sail dog bed of their own!” And so, one brainstorm, a few prototypes and a leaky hull later - Jetty Dog was born!
